Freshman football defeats Brookfield 8-7

The Freshman Football Panthers improved to a 4-3 record with a 8-7 victory over Brookfield. The Panthers scored their lone touchdown early in the first half with a 45 yard TD run by Hunter Phillips. The Bulldogs responded with a score of their own the following drive. The second half was a defensive battle as both teams struggled to move the football. Defensively the Panthers were led by Max Hunter and Lane Mathews who had seven tackles a piece. Hunter Phillips chipped in with 5 tackles and led the team in rushing with 90 yards, Nathan Greene added a key interception in the first half that kept Brookfield out of the endzone for a second time. The Panthers will finish up the season with a home game next Thursday against the Macon Tigers.
