Brett Huffington and Kaiden Davenport, Centralia High School seniors, were chosen for the KRES All-Star Football team this year. Huffington was an offensive lineman for Centralia, and Davenport was a defensive back. They were recognized on December 13, 2017, at the KRES All-Star Football Banquet in the MACC auditorium.
Huffington was honored when he found out he made the team because he felt like the time and effort he put into the game paid off. Huffington thinks he was chosen for this team because of the experience he has from being a varsity football player and his ability to help and encourage teammates. The advice Huffington has for future football players is to keep going even when things get hard. Huffington loved being a high school football player. He said he enjoyed being with all of his friends and going through all the stuff they did together.
Davenport was surprised when he found out he made the team, and he thought it was awesome to be recognized for the four years of work had he had encountered. His favorite part about being a high school football player was the friends he made and the bonds he formed on the team. Davenport believes he was chosen for this team because of the impact he had on others and his accomplishments on the CHS football team. When asked to give advice for future football players, Davenport said, “Stay humble.”
