The CHS Student of the Month for March was senior Mykaela Gallegos. Leah Rolfson, CHS music teacher, nominated Gallegos for her remarkable work ethic.

According to Rolfson, Gallegos is in concert choir. She [Gallegos] was out for a year because of scheduling difficulties. Rolfson is very thankful Gallegos is back in her class this year. “She is a silent leader and a student to be looked up to by her peers and those younger than her,” Rolfson said.

Gallegos is the daughter of Casey and Eric Baxter. She is involved in NHS and concert choir. Gallegos was very excited when she heard she was selected for the Student of the Month by her choir teacher. Gallegos loves to sing and participate in the concerts and the spring musical.

Gallegos plans to get her cosmetology license in June and to further her education by attending barbering school in the fall and earning her crossover license, which will allow her to be both a barber and a cosmetologist.
