Emma Edwards, CHS junior, has created her own baking business called Triple E’s Bakery. Edwards bakes and decorates cakes and cupcakes for all occasions.
In 2016 Edwards started her cake business when she had her first order request. Her first customer was Nicole Hudson. The order was for 200 cupcakes, both chocolate and white. The icing was four different colors: green, blue, orange and pink. After her first customer, word spread about the business, and Edwards began to get more orders. She then started to run her business out of her home.
Edwards did not even start thinking about a business until she received her first order. She never thought baking was a money-making project; she just thought of baking as a fun activity. Edwards loves baking and decorating cakes and cupcakes.
Every cake is unique, according to Edwards. Her favorite part of baking is that there are no limits. Edwards always tries to personalize each customer’s cake. Her favorite type of bakery creation is a unicorn cake. These cakes have been very popular for Edwards, and she absolutely loves when she gets to make more. Every time Edwards bakes the unicorn cakes, she makes the colors different and the shape of the unicorn’s eyes different. “I like that I could sit down with a customer and make their imagination turn into a cake,” said Edwards.
In the future, Edwards plans to continue her bakery and open her own bakery. She hopes to run her future bakery business in either a downtown shop or in town. After running her bakery out of her house, Edwards can tell she is in need of more space.
At CHS Edwards is the Vice President of Membership in FBLA, and she works at Angell’s Western Wear. Managing her time can be stressful at times due to school, FBLA meetings and work. She really has to learn to manage time well to complete her cake orders.
Edwards has an Instagram account that is up-to-date with pictures of her latest work. Her Instagram account name is triplees_bakery.
