The CHS Drama Club and the Future Business Leaders of America worked together in October to plan a haunted house at the high school. As Halloween approached, the community had the chance to celebrate the holiday with this spooky experience on Friday, October 26, and Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 7-11 p.m. at Centralia High School. FBLA also opened the concession stand for the people waiting for their turn.
The Drama Club hosted a similar event last year, but this was the first time the club worked with the FBLA on the project. During the planning of the haunted house, FBLA club president Adam Petty said, “I am looking forward to this because I think it will be a fun and new experience.”
The members of both clubs worked together to turn the high school classrooms into creepy escape rooms. People who attended the event entered classrooms and had to solve puzzles in order to leave the room. The entire haunted house was phobia-themed. Caroline Million, Drama Club member, talked about the planning that goes into an event like this: “Everyone that helps with the haunted house puts a lot of effort into making it entertaining to audiences,” she said.
