The Madrigal is a dinner and show that is held at CHS every holiday season. The CHS Orchestra, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir and Mixed Choir members all perform at this annual event. Leah Rolfson, CHS choir instructor, said, “It will be another year of special traditions. We hope people can make it!”
Several students are participating in Madrigal. Numerous choir students are taking on roles for the event: Duke Newsted, Scrooge; Sarah Noonan, narrator; Gus Stidham, Marley’s Ghost; Peyton Davis, the First Spirit; Emily Burkhardt, the Second Spirit; Kody Walters, Scrooge’s nephew, Fred; Maya Martinez, Belle; Dillon Dunn, Bob Cratchit; Beth Heimann, Mrs. Cratchit; Seth Beard, Fezziwig; Christian Barrett-Gerhardt, Poole; William Rolfson, Lamb; Gracie Schultz, Doorstep Woman; Callie Timmerberg, Fan; Abbie Ross, Kate; Ike Stidham, Tiny Tim; Charlie Million, Peter Cratchit; Maddie Lipford, Martha Cratchit; Aleigha Dollens, Belinda Cratchit; Lily Stidham, Harriet Cratchit; Kile Chitwood, Frederick Cratchit; Presli Barnes, Mary Kate Bennett and Schuylar Hatton, the party guests; Xaden Lockett, Old Joe; Sarah Spires, Charwoman; Sam Boyd, Mrs. Dilber; Hunter King, Buck; Elijah Crutchfield, Nathan Greene and Eben Lewis, businessmen; Tyler Reinerd, the Third Spirit; Garrison Ford and Zeke Hamilton, young Scrooge.
The Madrigal menu includes roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, rolls, brownie cake, tea and water. Madrigal performance dates are Friday, November 30, Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2. Friday and Saturday night the doors to the building open at 6:00 p.m., and the doors to the cafeteria open at 6:30 p.m. On Sunday, December 2, the high school doors open at 2:30 p.m., and the doors to the cafeteria open at 3:00 p.m.
Tickets are still available for this event. They are being sold at the board office.
