After the holiday break, 8th Grade Science students participated in a much needed review of concepts learned before Christmas. Students pictured above are participating in an “Energy Breakout” where they have been given clues and digital locks to open. The students worked in pairs to try an solve the puzzles as quickly as possible, knowing the fastest group would receive a prize. Working together they had to remember and/or try to come up with the key concepts and forms of energy required to complete the “codes” needed to “open” the locks. They scrambled through notes, the internet, and their brains for the correct answers and seemed to have fun in this fast paced review.
