The Centralia High School music department is excited to announce the upcoming spring musical. Hello, Dolly! will be held in the CHS gymnasium on April 12 and 13 at 7:00 p.m.
The following music students earned roles in the musical: Beth Heimann, Dolly Levi; Aleigha Dollens, Ermengarde; Mary Kate Bennett, Irene Molloy; Gracie Schultz, Minnie Fay; Emily Burkhardt, Ernestina; Maddie Lipford, Mrs. Rose; Dillon Dunn, Horace Vandergelder; Duke Newsted, Ambrose Kemper; Hunter King, Cornelius Hackle; Nathan Greene, Barnaby Tucker; Charlie Million, Rudolph; Thomas Hudson, Stanley; and Peyton Davis and William Rolfson as the Judge.
The musical Hello, Dolly! seemed attractive to Mr. Scott Long and Mrs. Leah Rolfson, musical directors, due to its old-fashioned nature. They liked that it was a comedy and thought the kids would have a lot of fun. To prepare for the the spring musical, Rolfson and Long have had a few evening practices with the group. Some of the leads have been coming in for PASS and working on lines and staging. Rolfson and Long both hope to have more evening work and a Saturday workshop next.
Tickets for the spring musical will go on sale April 1, 2019. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets will be on sale at the main office of each school, at the board office and from Rolfson.
The music department is really excited about the spring musical and hopes to see you there! Rolfson said, “We hope you can all find time to come watch the show. We will not sell out. We’ll just add seats!”
