Higginson Receives February Arrangement of the Month

Dr. Matt Smith, the CHS principal, awarded Erin Higginson, CHS math department head and dual credit instructor, the arrangement of the month for February. Each month, a teacher is given the Arrangement of the Month, a flower bouquet, after demonstrating excellent teaching methods or helping in an extraordinary way at the high school.
Higginson currently teaches math classes, such as Statistics and Trigonometry. Not only does she teach mathematics, but she also heads the Centralia R-VI math department.
Higginson’s assistance around the school inspired Smith to award her the flower arrangement for the month. Smith said that she “did an outstanding job of helping me organize the Clarence County Conference Math Professional Development Day.”
As a CHS teacher, Higginson puts a lot of effort into creating classes and courses that interest students who are curious about mathematics or more advanced math-related topics. One life lesson she wants students to remember from her teaching is “to know the satisfaction and the pride they can feel when they successfully work through a difficult task.”
