The Sontheimers currently live in a rural community in Cairo, Missouri. They are looking for houses in Centralia, where they hope to get further involved in the community. They have five children: Jordan (26); Brandon (23); Harper (14); Tilmon (11); and Declan (7). Two of their children have graduated high school, but they have three who are all currently in Centralia schools.
Lindsey Sontheimer was formerly a teacher at Westran High School. She has been a special education teacher for 16 years and continues to teach special education at Centralia. Sontheimer believes the most rewarding part of being a teacher is “working with students to improve in their areas of weakness and seeing their confidence grow over the school year.”
Ben Sontheimer formerly taught at Macon High School. He teaches Lifetime Sports, Advanced Senior Weightlifting and Freshman PE. This is his twenty-fifth season coaching football, and he said he is very grateful to be part of the Centralia football tradition. Sontheimer believes “the most rewarding part of being a coach is getting to witness a team accomplish more than they thought they could.” He looks forward to working with the players to reach their goal(s) throughout the season.
