Nexus Students visit the Capitol with their Future City Model

Chester Boren Middle School students in the gifted program called Nexus were invited to attend STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Day at the Capitol in Jefferson City on March 5, 2020.  Nineteen students displayed one of their team Future City models and took turns answering questions about the Future City competition. During the day, sponsored by the Missouri Chamber Foundation, students were given a private tour of the capitol building, visited with Rep. Cheri Toalson-Reisch after viewing the opening of the House chamber; later the Centralia group was introduced in the Senate by Sen. Caleb Rowden. Students also spent time viewing the other STEM exhibits on the 3rd floor rotunda.
