Dr. Matt Smith, CHS principal, named Griffin Anderson, tenth-grade son of Justin and Melissa Anderson, as the January 2020 CHS Student of the Month.

Anderson says one of his favorite classes is Intro to Business because he really enjoys the content of the class. Also, he really likes his Biology class because they have a good time together. Anderson runs cross country and manages the boys’ basketball team. Additionally, he is the FTA president, Key Club treasurer, and the sophomore Student Council class representative.

Dr. Smith has recognized that Anderson did an exceptional job this basketball season as the boys’ basketball manager. “He does an outstanding job and is much more than just a guy filling water bottles. He is Coach Humphrey’s right-hand man when it comes to stat keeping, managing game video, setting up for practices/drills, keeping the clock during practices and on and on,” said Smith.

Coach Scott Humphrey nominated Griffin for this honor. “I nominated Griffin Anderson because he is such a huge help to me in anything I need. Griffin is a great person who is always trying to help others,” said Humphrey.

Anderson wants to attend college to get a degree in education. “I would like to become a teacher and eventually become a principal,” he said.
