Centralia R-VI School District

Centralia R-VI Public School District is located in the northeast corner of Boone County and western portions of Audrain County. There are approximately 1350 students that attend 4 different campuses composed of seven buildings housing a preschool, elementary, intermediate, middle school, high school, vocational sciences, and alternative school. All of the buildings are located in Centralia, which is the major urban center for the district.

Over the last year the district has experienced a 3.5% increase in enrollment. Student to teacher ratios have remained stable at about 18 students for every classroom teacher which is the same as state averages.

The Centralia R-VI School District has current expenditure of $8,221 per ADA student. Its assessed valuation is $83,780,770 and the tax levy is $3.4695 with a $0.89 debt service. The total revenue that comes from local sources is 45%, 45% from state sources, and 8% from federal sources (Centralia R-VI Schools 2009-2010 annual Report). Fifty percent of the professional staff has advanced degrees.
