This week we have started a new unit where we will be working with and using decimals.  The students will be adding, multiplying, and subtracting with a decimal.  To help with students work with decimals the students have been given a mock checking account. Each student will owe money and write checks for different privileges in the classroom and will also have the opportunity to earn money by getting questions right and keeping their check register balanced.  We will also be going over making payments and how sales tax is figured into a bill.
