Builders Club has been fundraising to build a bench and to make pillowcases. Currently members have raised enough funds to build the bench and start the pillowcase projects. The purpose of the bench is to house lost and found items at the front of the school. The pillowcases will be donated to the Children's Hospital in Columbia, MO. We will be doing one more fundraiser this school year. Builders Club is excited about the projects we are doing this year!

7/8 Honors Choir Shirts are Here!!
The shirts for the 7/8 Honors Choir are in and will be distributed this week (Oct. 15-19). Students are NOT to wear these to school except for performances. Khaki pants are to be worn to complete the choir attire.
As a side note, the combined 6 through 8 Honors choirs sounded really great under the direction of student teacher, Mrs. Katie Loyd when they sang the Star Spangled Banner for the CBMS Volleyball game on Oct. 4. Thank you parents for your support.
7/8 Honors Choir Shirt Order
The 7th/8th Honors Choir will once again be ordering t-shirts to wear for their performances. The cost is $10 (checks payable to Centralia Schools). The order forms will be sent home with your child next week and will be due on Monday, October 1. There is also an order form attached to this message. Builders Club
The 2012-2013 Builders Club organization is just getting underway at CBMS. The first Builders Club meeting will be Wednesday, September 12, at 7:45 in the CBMS library. At the first meeting we will nominate officers and discuss potential service projects. For those of you who are new to Builders Club, here are a few things to know:
Builders Club meets the second Wednesday of every month in the CBMS library at 7:45am.
Builders Club is a service organization which works with the local Kiwanis organization to provide services to our school and community.
Builders Club is an 8th grade privilege.
Members of Builders Club can go on at attend Key Club when they move on to the high school.
The Builders Club Sponsor is Mrs. Hancock.
The Kiwanis sponsors for our Builders Club are Jim Coleman and Dave Holsinger.
Honors Choirs to Begin Sept. 6 (7&8) and Sept. 10 (6)
The CBMS Honors Choirs will begin the 2012-2013 school year with rehearsals from 7:30 am until 8:00 am on the following days: Mondays for 6th grade and Thursdays for 7th/8th. The first scheduled rehearsal will be on Thursday, Sept. 6 and Monday, Sept. 10. Neither of these groups require an audition although the students may need to be heard individually to be placed according to their vocal ability.
There will be a sign up announced during morning assembly during the week of August 20-23. Letters of intent and consent will then be sent to the parents.
