Darin R. Ford has an undergraduate degree from University of Central Missouri (UMC) a Masters from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an Educational Specialist degree from UMC. He and his wife Donna have two sons.

Centralia R-VI district administrators recently had the opportunity to nominate a teacher from their building to honor as the Centralia Chamber of Commerce's 2013 Teacher of the Year.  The Chamber recognized the recipients of this award at a special event, which was held on Thursday, April 11 at the Knights of Columbus building in Centralia.

PostHeaderIcon April 23 Cancellations and Postponements

Due to weather, the Centralia HS Varsity Golf Match at Innsbrook Golf Club this afternoon has been postponed to Friday, April 26th, at 1:30 pm.

Due to weather, Centralia HS's Varsity Baseball game today with Monroe City has been postponed to be played as part of a Varsity double header with Louisiana on Thursday, May 2nd.  On that day, Centralia will play Louisiana's Varsity starting at 4:30pm, to be immediately followed by the Varsity match-up with Monroe City.

Centralia's Junior Varsity match-ups with Monroe City today and Louisiana on May 2nd have been postponed indefinitely until suitable dates can be determined.

The home MS track meet for tonight has been cancelled.

PostHeaderIcon Baseball Game Addition

In order to make up a lost game due to weather, Centralia HS and Jefferson City HS have scheduled a Varsity/Junior Varsity double header to be played Monday, April 22nd.  The games will be played in Centralia and will start at 5pm.

On Saturday, April 20th, Centralia HS JV Track will participate in a meet at Hallsville, beginning at 9 am.  On Saturday, April 20th, Centralia HS Varsity Track will participate in a maeet at Mexico, beginning at 9 am.

PostHeaderIcon From the Desk of the Superintendent - April

April's board meeting was a busy one. The meeting started with board reorganization. Jed Angell and Bobbie Tetley were sworn in by board secretary, Rita Lawrence. Greg Martin was presented a plaque in recognition for his service. Justin Romine, Nathan Chitwood and Jed Angell were again named president, vice-president, and treasurer respectively. Rita Lawrence was appointed board secretary.

The board discussed paying down some district debt. They requested more information for next month regarding the topic. The board discussed the bus lease purchase entered into by the district in 2011.

A new list of potential capital projects for the next five years was presented to the board. As part of the CSIP plan, the board is going to eventually put together a five-year plan. Monthly discussions on the topic will continue.

Erle Bennett and Andrew Reynolds presented the CTA salary proposal for next year.  After a thorough and informative presentation, the board briefly discussed and then passed the proposed schedule that included an approximate 5% raise, on average, for both certified and non-certified staff.

The board approved Graves and Associates out of Jefferson City to be the district's auditor for the next three years. They have been the district's auditor for the last three years.

In executive session, the board approved the rehiring of the extracurricular and cocurricular coaches and sponsors for next year. There are a few vacant positions that are yet to be filled. The board also accepted resignations from Bryan Koerner and Amy Admire.

Finally, the board made the following hires for the 2013-2014 school year:

Joe Evans - High School Evening Custodian
Lisa McCarthy - CBMS High Needs
Brandie Bryson - 8 Grade Science
Breanne Gregory - Kindergarten
