April's board meeting was a busy one. The meeting started with board reorganization. Jed Angell and Bobbie Tetley were sworn in by board secretary, Rita Lawrence. Greg Martin was presented a plaque in recognition for his service. Justin Romine, Nathan Chitwood and Jed Angell were again named president, vice-president, and treasurer respectively. Rita Lawrence was appointed board secretary.
The board discussed paying down some district debt. They requested more information for next month regarding the topic. The board discussed the bus lease purchase entered into by the district in 2011.
A new list of potential capital projects for the next five years was presented to the board. As part of the CSIP plan, the board is going to eventually put together a five-year plan. Monthly discussions on the topic will continue.
Erle Bennett and Andrew Reynolds presented the CTA salary proposal for next year. After a thorough and informative presentation, the board briefly discussed and then passed the proposed schedule that included an approximate 5% raise, on average, for both certified and non-certified staff.
The board approved Graves and Associates out of Jefferson City to be the district's auditor for the next three years. They have been the district's auditor for the last three years.
In executive session, the board approved the rehiring of the extracurricular and cocurricular coaches and sponsors for next year. There are a few vacant positions that are yet to be filled. The board also accepted resignations from Bryan Koerner and Amy Admire.
Finally, the board made the following hires for the 2013-2014 school year:

Joe Evans - High School Evening Custodian

Brandie Bryson - 8 Grade Science
