Parents as Teachers
All children will learn, grow and develop to realize their full potential.
MissionTo provide the information, support and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.
The goal of Parents as Teachers is to help all parents get their child off to the best possible start. As a parent, you are your child’s first and most important teacher and your home is your child’s first classroom. Your baby begins learning at birth. Brain growth and development happens more rapidly during the first five years of life then at any other time. Parents as Teachers can help you lay a strong foundation for your child’s future success in school and life.
Parents as Teachers provides personal visits, group connection activities, screening and resource and referral to families of children prenatal to kindergarten entry and is offered free of charge to any family living in Centralia School Districtwho has a child not yet in kindergarten. Visits may even begin before the baby is born.
Please call Chance Elementary School, 682-2014, for more information or to enroll in the program. You may also email one of the parent educators on this page. We look forward to working with you.
